Charles Wilhelm
Lewistown- Charles H. Wilhelm, 83, of Lewistown, passed away Thursday December 13, 2018 at his home.
He was born January 27, 1935 at Dunfermline, the son of William D. and Kathryn (Jenkins) Wilhelm. He married Connie Grzanich on September 15, 1962 at Bryant. She survives along with three sons, Thomas Wilhelm of Canton, Charles Wilhelm of Wilmington, NC; and Bill Wilhelm of Lewistown, five grandchildren, Ryan, Alana, Jesse, John, and Jacqueline, and three great grandchildren, Lindsey, Rory, and Jayce. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charles graduated from Lewistown High School in 1952, served in the US Navy and graduated from Bradley University in 1958. He then attended Valparaiso Law School and graduated in 1962. He then joined the Law Firm of George Proctor in Lewistown where he practiced until 1976. He then served as a 9th Judicial Circuit Judge until retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Illinois State Bar Association of which he received the Distinguished Counselor award in 2012.
Charles enjoyed his small farm and the animals he considered pets. Above all he loved his family and country living.
Per his wishes there will be no services and cremation will be accorded. A private family committal and interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton Mason Women’s Crisis Center or St Jude Children’s Hospitals. Condolences may be made to the family at henrylange.com
