Lloyd R. Kemper Sr.

Canton- Lloyd “Farmer” R. Kemper Sr., 75, of Canton passed away at 10:30 pm Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at his residence. He was born on August 18, 1939, in Canton to Eldon H. and Dorothy (Gibson) Kemper. Lloyd married Louise M. Walters on September 6, 1956, in Canton. She preceded him death on September 12, 2001. Also preceding him death were his parents; daughter, Jennifer Chadwick; 4 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Floyd (twin), Leon, and Ray; and a sister, Linda.

Surviving are 3 children; Lloyd R. Kemper Jr, Kimberly (Martin) Brown, and Marla (Donnie) Foulk, all of Canton; best friend, Sherry McCoy, of Canton; son-in-law, Norm Chadwick of Edwardsville; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Harold (Edna) Kemper of Hyden, KY, and Bill (Judy) Kemper of Canton; 2 half brothers, Randy Foster of Stinnett, KY, and Raymond Foster of Hyden, KY.

Lloyd worked as a truck driver for Star Delivery and Sturm, as a custodian at First Christian Church in Canton and Canton School District #66, owned and operated Kemper Dairy Dream in Reeds Springs, MO, and last worked as a painter for Kemper Construction. He loved spending time with family, camping, fishing, and gardening.

Services will be 11 am Monday, June 22, at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton with Rev. Harry Kemper (Nephew) and Harold Kemper (Brother) officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday, June 21, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
