Breeds – Leatha Fay Smith, 89, of Breeds, IL passed away at 12:33 AM Monday, June 8, 2015 at Graham Hospital Extended Care, Canton.
She was born November 10, 1925 in Banner, IL to Clifford and Ida (Rilea) Oldham.
Leatha married George E. “Gene” Smith on January 17, 1944. He died April 10, 2015.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Harold E. Smith; a stillborn daughter; three brothers, Delmar, Dale, and Donnie Oldham; and two sisters, Lena Williams and Ellen Hutton.
Surviving are her son, Gary A. (Evelyn) Smith of Canton; daughter, Bonnie (Thomas) Lefler of Cuba; daughter-in-law, Sharon Smith of Canton; grandson, Harold A. (Michele) Smith; five granddaughters, Tina (John) Pasley, Kim (Robbie) Bull, Tammy (Jim) Kem, Candy (Craig) Harkless, and Peggy (Jim) Lewis; fourteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and one sister, Roma (Mick) Painter of Liverpool.
Leatha loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 11th at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, Canton where visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, June 10th.
Rev. Brian Ebert will officiate.
Burial will be in Orendorff-Breeds Cemetery, rural Canton.
Memorials may be made to the Bryant Christian Church or Long Term Activity Fund at Graham Hospital.
