Glen Leon Baum

Glen L. Baum, age 55 of Browning, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 2, 1970 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Kenneth and Carol Baum. He married Melissa Brown on October 2, 2010 in Springfield. She survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Kyleigh of Athens, Illinois, brother Darell (and Suzanne) Baum of Athens, Illinois, his uncle and aunt Ron and Linda Ferricks, and nieces, nephews, and several cousins.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Baum was raised in Athens, Illinois and graduated from Athens High School in 1988. He retired from the Illinois Department of Conservation in 2022 with 34 years of service. He has since been employed with AC McCartney Equipment Sales.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Glen’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Glen’s memory may be given to the Havana Church of Christ, Havana, Illinois, and may be sent to Shawgo Memorial Home, PO Box 525, Astoria, IL 61501
