He was born on March 29, 1956 in Canton to Lester and Alma (Cook) Murphy.
He married Tammy on August 15, 1992, in Canton. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2022.
Surviving are his children, Jennifer (Aaron) Williams of North Carolina, Russell (Brandi) Murphy II of Ohio, Stacie (Andrew) Williams-Huslander of Galva, Caiden (Kirsten) Scalf of Canton, and Kaylah (Preston) Harris of Canton, grandchildren, Nate, Carter, Tyler, Hannah, Tanner, Cora, Graci, Hailee, Morgan, Alec, Elexie, Kenzleigh, Wyatt, Logan and Cody, great grandchildren, Joleigh, Liam, Eleanor and Rowan, two brothers, one sister, Lillian Young and several nieces and nephews..
Russ worked for Maytag and later for Evonik. For 50 years he was known as the “Gutter Man” and owned and operated T-Murph’s Seamless Gutters. He was also a member of the Canton Elks Lodge #626.
Visitation will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Tuesday, January 21, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will take place immediately following the services at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
