Hiram L. Vanderheiden, Jr.

Hiram L. Vanderheiden, Jr., 68, of Manito, passed away at his daughter’s home, in East Peoria, at 6:25 a.m., on Monday, January 20, 2025. He was born August 6, 1956, in Peoria, Illinois, to Hiram and Waltressa Sally (Pfeifer) Vanderheiden, Sr.

Mr. Vanderheiden is survived by two children: Melissa (Marty) Mendoza, of East Peoria, and Matt (Jeanne Guengerich) Vanderheiden, of Topeka; two grandchildren: Ethan and Jenna Kosmider; brother, Roger Vanderheiden of Bartonville, Illinois; sister, Tammy (Steve) Pierson, of Stillman Valley, Illinois; three nephews; two aunts; and two uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson Jacob Kosmider.
Mr. Vanderheiden was a member of Manito Community United Methodist Church. He worked in Maintenance for the Village of Manito, and as a carpenter for Woiwode Construction. He was a volunteer with Forman Ambulance for many years. He was a 1974 graduate of Forman High School.
Cremation rites have been accorded and no public services are planned at this time.
