Daisy E. Baxter

Daisy E. Baxter, 81, of Wee-Ma-Tuk, IL, passed away at 7:58 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025 at her home. She was born on April 28, 1943 in Canton, IL to Earl and Annabelle (Fraley) Ashwood. She married Russell Allen Baxter in 1960. He preceded her in death in 1981.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Russell Eugene (Sharon) Baxter; one brother, Thomas Ashwood; and two sisters, JoAnn Crawford and Betty Sprout.

She is survived by one brother, Robert (Betty) Ashwood; two sisters, Hazel (Marvin) Henderson and Linda Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Daisy worked as a manager for Kroger in Canton for 42 years and retiring in 2002. She also loved spending time with her friends and family.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Rev. Kevin Van Tine will officiate. Burial will follow service at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
