He was born April 19, 1935 at Hebron, IL; the son of Howard and Mae (Elliott) Kohl Sr. He married Emma Marie Siler on April 18, 1991 at Las Vegas, NV. She died April 7, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survivors include two granddaughters, Martha Tweed of North Carolina, and Tammy Shields of Springfield, OH; four step grandchildren, Brittany, Nichole, Ed, and Michael, and two sisters, Geraldine Zimmerman of Cape Girardeau, MO; and Veronica Anderson of Rockford.
Howard was a Korean War veteran serving in the US Navy from 1953-1959. He worked at Caterpillar for 35 years before retiring. He was a member of the Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533, Lewistown VFW Post 5001, and the Farmington Moose Lodge.
Cremation will be accorded and burial of his ashes will take place at 1 pm Friday February 7, 2025 at Baughman Cemetery with military rites conducted by the US Navy and Cuba American Legion Post. Condolences may be made at henrylange.com
