Roberta was born on May 14, 1964, in Lawrenceville, IL, to Charles R. and Patricia A. (Stevenson) Meek. She married the love of her life, Joseph “Andy” Fyffe, on March 23, 1985, in Sumner, IL. He survives, along with their two children, Chester (Amy) Fyffe of Cuba and Andrea (Steven) Tanner of St. Louis, MO. Roberta was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren: Brayden, Abigail, Sophie, and Logan. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia (Stevenson) Meek of Bridgeport, IL, and her brother, Charles (Angle) Meek of Bridgeport, IL. Roberta was preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Meek, and her sister, Cheryl O’Brien.
Throughout her life, Roberta worked in various roles, from serving as a CNA to spending many years working in insurance and accounting. She was a military wife for over 18 years, supporting her husband through his service. Roberta also devoted much of her time to serving alongside Andy at the Cuba Assembly of God, where she was an active and loving pastor’s wife. A passion of hers was the founding of Supply My Children, an initiative close to her heart, which provided school supplies to children in the local community.
Roberta was a woman who lived her life with deep love, kindness, and generosity. Her legacy will live on through her family and the many lives she touched. She and Andy would have celebrated 40 years of marriage on March 23, a milestone that is a testament to their strong, enduring love. Their children, Chester and Andrea, never once doubted the depth of their mother’s love. Her unwavering devotion to her family was matched only by her love for her grandchildren. Roberta adored Brayden, Abigail, Sophie, and Logan, and her presence at every event, from baseball games to school functions, was a constant reminder of how much she cherished them. While her physical presence will be missed, her spirit will always be with them, watching over them with love.
Above all, Roberta’s faith was the foundation of her life. She loved Jesus deeply and allowed His light to shine through her every action. Whether she was teaching in children's church, mentoring youth, or planning activities for Vacation Bible School, Roberta poured her heart into sharing God’s love with others, especially the younger
generations.
In her final act of love and generosity, Roberta chose to be an organ donor, a decision that will continue her legacy by giving the gift of life to others. This selfless act reflects the compassion she demonstrated throughout her life.
As we gather to remember and honor Roberta, we take comfort in knowing that her love, kindness, and faith will continue to impact the world around us. Her legacy is one of selflessness, compassion, and unshakable love for her family, friends, and all those she served.
A visitation will be held on February 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Cuba Church of the Nazarene, 605 S 3rd St, Cuba, IL, with Pastor Don Southerd officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to be made in Roberta’s name to
Shriners Hospital for Children , an organization that was dear to her heart. Online condolences may be left at henrylange.com.
