HAVANA – Patricia A. France, 91, passed away on October 15, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield. Born on November 17, 1932 in Browning, IL, she was the daughter of Jewell and Lois (Sherril) Edwards.Pat retired from a career as a cook in the Havana School Corporation. A devoted mother, her greatest joy was her family. Although it was a lively and sometimes chaotic occasion, Pat thrived in the company of her children and grandchildren.
In her spare time, Pat found peace in her crochet projects, which she generously gifted to those she loved. Her grandchildren hold precious memories of working puzzles on the dining room table during their stays with her through the summer. On quiet evenings, she would often be found curled up in her favorite chair, watching Fox News, solving word search puzzles, and enjoying the company of her faithful companion, Cash.
She will be remembered by her family for her spunky and strong-willed personality. Even in her later years, she maintained her independence. Her strong-willed spirit and ability to live independently were a source of admiration and inspiration to all who knew her.
