Also surviving is one daughter, Debbie Moore of Canton, four grandchildren, Brandon Erxleben of Canton; Gwendolyn Kirkpatrick of Maryland Heights, Missouri; Kaydin Moore of Creve Coeur, and Callie Moore of Peoria; sister-in-law, Libbi Moore, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Heywood in death was his parents, son, Jason Moore, brother, John T. Moore, and sister, Lillie Dominy.
He served his country as a Naval Corpman with the United States Navy from April 1958 until November 1968, and also from October 1972 until June 1982, and later worked and retired as a CNA from Graham Hospital in 2003. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies baseball fan, and loved watching T.V. and listening to country music.
Per Heywood’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and a graveside service and burial of ashes will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, where military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy.
