Smithfield- Virginia L. Wilson, 90, of Smithfield passed away on Saturday November 19, 2022 at her home.
She was born September 24, 1932 at rural Smithfield the daughter of Clair and Ina (Chenoweth) Lafary. She married Thomas J. Wilson on August 9, 1950 at Smithfield. He died October 3, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one infant sister, Sharon Lafary, two sisters, Shirley Manuel, and Wilma Ross, and three brothers, Clair Lafary, John Lafary, and Charlie Lafary. Surviving are two sons, Ed Wilson of Delevan, and Joe Wilson of Cuba, one daughter, Cindy (Jerry) Buchen of Cuba, one sister, Thelma (Harold) Miller of Smithfield, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Virginia was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Canton Women’s Bowling Association. Virginia also enjoyed her family and attending her grandchildren’s sports events where she would keep her own score card from every game. The family would like to thank Vonda Parrish, Serenity Point Hospice, and Grant Keime Trust for all their care over the past several years.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday November 25th at Baughman Cemetery rural Smithfield with Pastor Ellen Dodd officiating. There will be no visitation.
