Marilyn Ruth Rose

Marilyn R. Rose, 81, of Canton, passed away at 12:53 AM on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Farmington Village Nursing Home in Farmington, IL. She was born on November 18, 1941 in Canton, IL to Marion and D. Lillis (Daily) Elliott. She married Dearl Rose on September 10, 1960 in Canton, IL. He survives. They later divorced. After their divorce, she met and enjoyed spending time with her longtime companion Dean Gibson, who was by her side through the very end of her days.

Also surviving are three children, Diana (Robert) Juraco of Galesburg, IL, Darren (Brenda) Rose and Ryan (Michelle) Rose, both of Canton, IL; five grandchildren, Caitlin Juraco, Patrick Juraco, Elijah Rose, Parker Rose, and Ian Rose.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janet Leddy.

Marilyn was a homemaker and worked part time for Graham Hospital and Heartland Health Care. She was an avid auction goer and Chicago Bears fan. She loved cats, classic Country Music (especially the Sunday Morning 95 Country Oldies on WAAG, where the DJ’s knew her on a first name basis), cooking for and spending time with her family.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. A visitation will be held the same day from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Chaplin Jordan Knight will officiate. Burial will follow service at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL.
