St. David - Larry L. Wilcoxen, 81, of St. David, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born in Canton, on August 29, 1941, to Robert Wilcoxen and Wilma Mae (Jackway) Thomas. He married Mary Wilcoxen in 1985. She preceded him in death after 28 years of marriage. Also preceding him in death is one brother Tom Wilcoxen and his step father whom he was raised, Vernon "Red" Thomas. Surviving are two daughters, Tina (Scott) Denney, and Kathleen (Steve) Beekman, four brothers, Elmer (Linda) Thomas, Sam Thomas, Vernon (Kelly) Thomas, and Joe (Tamara) Thomas, ten grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. Larry is a Veteran of the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Keystone Steel and Wire in 1999. He was a member of the Canton VFW, and American Legion. He enjoyed going to auctions and collecting numerous different things. He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Military honor's will be rendered on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. at Franzoni Park in Norris. A celebration of life will follow at Tracey's Supper club in Norris from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
