Robert T. “Rob” Cameron, 57, of Ellisville, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. Rob was born on August 23, 1963 in Canton, IL to Charles Gordon and Raymona Jean (Miller) Cameron.
Rob is survived by his parents of Ellisville; two brothers, Michael (MaryKae) Cameron of Altona, IL and James Cameron of Ellisville, IL; six nieces and nephews; and five great nieces and nephews.
Rob attended Spoon River Valley Schools, graduating in 1981. He attended the University of Iowa, where he was a member of the Hawkeyes track team, graduating with a degree in electrical engineering. He later obtained an MBA at Western Illinois University. After working in Iowa, a short time, Rob returned to Illinois and worked at Maytag in Galesburg, and then Caterpillar in Peoria as a design engineer. He was a long-time member of Coal Creek Bible Church, where he served as teacher, treasurer and deacon. He also attended Checkrow Community Church. Rob was active at Faith Bible Camp near Yates City, serving as counselor, and board member.
Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. A visitation will be held 5-7 PM on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Pastor David Eden will officiate. A burial will follow services at Wiley Cemetery in rural Ellisville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Faith Bible Camp.
