Canton – Rick L. Bybee, 58, of Canton, passed away at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at his residence. He was born on December 31, 1960 in Canton to Verne and Linda (McCombs) Bybee. He married Lisa Keefauver on February 23, 1979 at the Fairview Reformed Church in Fairview. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Tabitha (Bill) Watson of Lewistown, Ricky (Stacey) Bybee Jr. of Canton, and Derrick Bybee of Canton; five grandchildren, Cassandra, Katrina, and Blake Watson, Ricky Bybee III and Jaxson Bybee; and two brothers, Randy Bybee of St. David and Rusty Bybee of TN.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, William Watson Jr.
Rick worked as a Circulation Manager at the Canton Daily Ledger for over 30 years. He was an avid bowler and loved fishing. Rick enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
A celebration of life will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Elks in Canton, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or Beacon of Hope Hospice, 102 E Main St., Galesburg, IL 61401.
