Canton – Richard E. Christy, 91, of Canton, passed away at 7:30 AM on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at The Loft. He was born on July 26, 1927 in Ferris, IL to Clifton Richard and Rena (Moore) Christy. He married Marilyn R. Williams on June 24, 1950 in Canton, she survives.
Also surviving are three children, Bruce Christy of Canton, Peggy (Dan) Solberg of Madison, WI, and Steven (Carrie) Christy of Clark, MO; four grandchildren, Beth (Scott) Daigger of MI, Susan Solberg of WI, Richard (Nicole) Christy of NE, and Caitlin Christy of NE; two great-grandchildren, Sophie Daigger and Chloe Christy; and one brother, Glen Christy of CT.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Laura Solberg.
Richard worked as a power plant shift supervisor for Cilco which is now Ameren. He was an avid Illini Basketball fan and Nebraska Cornhuskers fan.
