James C. "Jim" Fell, age 84 of Vermont, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in Davenport, FL. He was born on January 24, 1935 in Rock Falls, IL, the son of Herbert and Florence Fell. Jim married Nelda Malott on June 28, 1975 in Park Forest, IL She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Dr. Kathryn Fell of Davenport, FL, two sons, Michael Fell and David (and Jackie) Fell, both of Aurora, IL, one grandson, and one brother, Bob (and Judy) Fell of Rock Falls, IL.
Jim was preceded in death by one brother, Don Fell.
He, along with Mark Potter, were owners and operators of Murphy and Dickey in Hindsdale, IL for 40 years.
Jim was a member of the Instrument Society of America and the Vermont Christian Church, Vermont, IL.
He enjoyed woodcarving and loved dogs.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Cody Stinnett will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to the Vermont Christian Church.
