Louie E. Anderson
Cuba- Louie E. Anderson, 93, of Cuba, passed away at 11:47 PM Thursday November 15, 2018 at Graham Hospital.
He was born November 21, 1924 at Chandlerville, IL; the son of Wilmot and Nancy Jane (Lane) Anderson. He married Helen F. Mallicoat in July of 1949 at Virginia, IL. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2001. He was also preceded in death by two infant daughters, one sister, and a half brother. Survivors include three children, Sam (Linda) Anderson of Smithfield, Kathy (The Late John) Ridgeway of Cuba, and Susan (Pat) Cebuhar of Cuba, three grandchildren, John (Rebkah) Ridgeway Jr. of Lewistown, Melinda Anderson of Cleveland, OH; and Brandee (Cory) Ridgeway-Cordava of Lafayette, LA; five great grandchildren, one brother, Enoch (Judy) Anderson of Paris, IL; and four sisters, Marguerite Dixon of Springfield, IL; Mary Kern of Rochester, IL; Wilma Duckwiler of Canton, and Lula Anderson of rural Chandlerville.
Louie retired in 1983 from International Harvester in Canton. He was a WW 2 Army veteran. He was a member of the Cuba American Legion, Cuba Lions Club, and had served as a Cuba volunteer fireman, and has also served on the Cuba Fire Dept. Board of Trustees. He had also worked as a farm hand for various farmers in the area, and Fred Palin.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba where visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will be in Baughman Cemetery with military rites conducted by his Cuba American Legion Post.
