Phoebe Owens
Canton-Phoebe Owens, 88, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Red Oak Memory Care in Canton.
She was born on September 23, 1929 in Canton to Clyde and Mary Orthalene (Brant) Myers. They preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Rebecca (Rob) Phipps of Farmington, Deborah (Dale) Shelby of Lewistown, Teresa (the late Mike) Grigsby of Canton, Kim (Jeff) Standard of Farmington. Eleven grandchildren Kenny (Sarah) Phipps, Kerri (Adam) LaSala, Kyle (Fiancée Mandy) Phipps, Adryanne (Fiancée Tanner) Phipps, Ben (Kristin) Shelby, Jeff (Emily) Shelby, Christina Grigsby, Kelly (Brad) Murphy, Erik Grigsby, Emily (Cody) Crumb, Jacob Standard, seventeen great grandchildren, brother Jack (Kay) Myers of Davenport FL and Mary (the late Aaron) Preece of Peoria.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers Clyde and John Myers, two sisters, Lida (Henry) Banko, Joan (Lloyd) Hoff and great grandchild, Magnolia LaSala.
Phoebe worked at International Harvester in Canton as secretary in her younger years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and bowled in various leagues. She enjoyed playing Bridge and was a talented seamstress and cook.
A private graveside service has been held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Canton
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton has been entrusted with services.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to St. Mary’s Church Food Pantry.
