He was born on May 25, 1940 in Fairfield, Alabama to Thurman and Blanche (Helton) Reid. They preceded him in death.
Surviving is his son, Richard (Patty) Reid of Canton, one brother, Harold Reid of Alabaster, AL, one sister Deborah (Bill) York of Mulga, AL and two grandchildren, Melissa and Jared Reid.
Carl worked for Vulcan Materials and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He served in the U.S. Army.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 10 am, at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. There will be no visitation.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
