Joyce A. Lehman
Joyce A. Lehman, age 70 of Astoria, IL, passed away at 2:31 am on Sunday, September 16th in the Mason District Hospital in Havana, IL. She was born on May 30, 1948 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of James Robert and Irma Sophia (Snyder) Moody. On August 9, 1969, Joyce married Terry Lehman in Mt. Sterling, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Alicia Lehman of Astoria, granddaughter Lily Lehman of Astoria, her brother Roger (and Susan) Moody of Camp Point, IL, and her two sisters, Sharon (and Rod) Martini of Buffalo Grove, IL and Jan (and Chuck) Lodding of Lake Barrington, IL.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents.
She was an avid reader and talented artist.
She was a registered nurse, keeping her license active until 5 years ago. She first worked at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville, IL in the surgical department. She then worked at Astoria Healthcare Center for several years. She moved from the nursing field and Terry and Joyce became owner/operators of the Astoria Sunshine Store and in 1987 opened Studio Screens Express in Astoria.
Joyce was active in the Astoria community, serving as Astoria Cheerleading sponsor for several years, as well as being on numerous committees both at school and in the community.
She was a member of the Astoria Area Chamber of Commerce.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 19th from 5-7 pm at Shawgo Memorial Home. A memorial services will follow at 7 pm with Pastor David Little officiating. Memorials in Joyce's memory may be given to the Astoria Lions Club.
