Rebecca “Becky” L. Sigler

Hanna City- Rebecca “Becky” L. Sigler, 46 of Hanna City, formerly of Canton, passed away at 7:15 AM on Monday, August 7, 2023 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on January 10, 1977 in Canton, a daughter of John and Connie (Arnold) Burgard. She married John D. Sigler on October 18, 2015 in Canton. He survives.

Also surviving are her parents, John (Connie) Burgard of Canton, one daughter, Addison Sigler at home; two sisters, Renee (Ron) Tompkins of Canton; Rhonda (Craig Rios) Myers of Lincoln; mother & father-in-law, John (Judy) Sigler, sister-in-law, Ashley (Jason) Byers, both of Mapleton; nieces and nephews, Mandy, Ryan, Erik, Morgan, Scarlett, Brody, Briella, and soon to be, Rowyn.

Becky was the founder and owner of the Encore Performing Art Studio in Canton for 12 years, and worked as a Physical therapist, last working for Rock Valley Physical Therapy in Canton as an office manager. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton, was a former committee member of the Canton Friendship Festival Queen Pageant. She not only established Encore Performing Art Studio, but touched the hearts of all the students and their parents through the love of dancing, and she also had the love for playing the piano.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2023. Rev. Shalom Renner will officiate. Burial will follow the services on Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. Memorials can be made to the family for Addison Sigler’s Education Fund.
