He was born on August 18, 1948 in Canton to Verle and Viola (Thompson) Reneau. They preceded him in death.
He married Sharon Davis. She also preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Jay (Charity) Reneau of Canton, Jim (Michaela) Reneau of Peoria, eight grandchildren, Haley, Ezra, Geovanni, Shane, Paris, Mira, Ben and Lucas and four great grandchildren, Liam, Jaxson, Hunter and Briggs.
Also preceding him in death are three brothers, Steve and Denny and one infant brother, Michael.
Gerald served in the U.S. Army and later retired from Graham Hospital in Canton for almost 30 years. He was a member of the Canton Elks Lodge #626, Canton VFW and American Legion.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. There will be no services
Memorials may be made to the Canton American Legion.
