She was also preceded in death by both of her parents.
Surviving Nancy are her three children, Kelly (Jason) Vogelbaugh, Scott Wilson, and Doug (Kristie) Wilson; and five grandchildren, Zach Wilson, Kaitlyn Schaffitzel, Hunter (Kelsey) Wilson, Nicholas Vogelbaugh, and Charlie Vogelbaugh.
Nancy graduated from Canton High School in 1960, attended Spoon River College studying administration and business, and she also attended Western Illinois Police Training Unit and received her Certificate. Nancy was career driven with employment at Lock's Ford Town Auto Shop, Sutton &Moore Lumber Company. Nancy was Secretary for Jim Holthaus Construction, then transitioned to the Insurance field as an Underwriter for a host of companies. And, for the last many years until retirement in 2012, worked at the Heritage Bank of Peoria.
While raising her children Nancy, was engaged with all of their activities; volunteering at sporting events, PTO and Band Club Parent to name a few. She volunteered for years with the annual Friendship Festival and the Canton Police Auxiliary. Nancy was a member and Queen of the Jobs Daughters. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and singing in the choir. She was also a member of the Canton Country Club. She enjoyed golfing, music and attending her grandchildren’s activities and events; and simply being around her family and friends. Nancy had such a joy for life, always positive and encouraging to everyone who met her.
A visitation for Nancy will be held from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Sedgwick Funeral Homes and Crematory in Canton, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 12, 2022, also at Sedgwick Funeral Homes and Crematory in Canton, IL. Brian Butler will be officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL immediately following funeral services. Memorials may be made to the Lung Association.
