Mary A. Christian

Canton- Mary A. Christian, 98, of Canton, passed away, Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born in Brown County, on July 21, 1924, to Joseph "Carl" and Jane Powell. She married James "Jim" Christian on June 22, 1963 in Canton. He preceded her in death in 2001. Also preceding her in death is six brothers, Chet, Fred, Robert "Barney", Guy, Jake, and John Powell, and three sister, Wilma Miller, Lois Kennedy, and Sybil Lidwell. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Carole (Bobby) Vlahovich, Keith (Beth) Powell, Melody (Rick) Berry, Melinda (Alan) Ford, Rollin Christian, Shirley (Bill) Fuhrman and numerous others as well as many great and great great nieces and nephews. Mary retired from International Harvester in Canton in 1974. She was also a dedicated farm wife. She was a member of Fairview American Legion Auxiliary and Harvester Ladies Bowling team, who she competed with in numerous events. "Aunt Mary" will be remembered for her loving of visiting with friends and family at local restaurants, drinking coffee and eating chocolates. She also loved all animals. She enjoyed all her dogs and cats and raising flowers, cows, goats, and sheep on the farm. Aunt Mary will be deeply missed by all that knew her. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton at 11:00 a.m., Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Wiley Cemetery.
