Edward Allen Lidwell

Canton- Edward Allen Lidwell, 79, of Bryant, passed away at 4:27 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on July 18, 1942 in Canton, a son of William George and Sybil Margaret (Powell) Lidwell. He first married Shirley Mooney of Farmington, and later married Donna Courtney.

Edward is survived by, five daughters: Lori (Bret) Schneider of Lake Thunderbird, IL, Lynda Dunn of Hanna City, Lesli (James) Knight of Florida, Loni (Steve) King of Hillsdale, IL, Kem (Dallas) Richardson of Lewistown; one son, Courtney (Ashley) Lidwell of Breeds; 13 grandchildren: Amanda, Clay, Cody, Austin, Alyson, Cole, Zachary, Krista, Kaley, Emerson, Gus, Ahnna, Harlo, and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both parents, one infant son, William G. Lidwell; one brother, William Lidwell, one sister, Judy Ellsworth, and his lifelong friend Larry Simpson.

Edward worked and retired from the United Mine Coal Company as a Drag Liner. He loved people and riding in his car to go see friends and family. He was an avid fisherman, and extremely proud of his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Edward on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 3:00 PM, at Lakeview Event Center and Banquet Hall, 1920 North Main Street, Canton, IL 61520.
