William Bowers

Hanna City- William Bowers, 91, of Hanna City, passed away at 7:22 AM on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington. He was born on June 9, 1930 in Mason City, Iowa, a son of Loren and Genevieve (Reynolds) Bowers. He married Mildred Schmidt on June 26, 1954 in Rudd, Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, David Bowers of Haddonfield, New Jersey; Steven Bowers of Oswego, Illinois; James Bowers of Indianola, Iowa; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Bowers of Washington, Illinois and two sisters, Beverly Torgeson of Plymouth, Iowa; Barbara Pierson of Mason City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Derek Bowers, and one brother, Lloyd Bowers.

William graduated from the University of Iowa, with a PH. D, and worked as a History Professor at Bradley University in Peoria, and also served his country during the Korean War with the United States Army.
