Elliott E. “Big E” Plumer, 78, of Trivoli, passed away at 10:06 AM on Friday, November 27, 2020 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He was born on February 28, 1942 in Elmwood Township to William Stark and Wilma Elizabeth (Burt) Plumer.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marette; two children, Tony (Shelly) Plumer of Canton, and Alison (David) Eeten of Mapleton; five grandchildren, Anna and Turner Plumer, and Chloe, Emerson, and Cru Elliott Eeten; one brother, Richard Plumer of Farmington; brother-in-law, Mark (Rosie) Prince of Minnesota, brother-in-law, Bill (Georgia) Prince of California, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William “Bud” (Irene) Plumer; one sister, Ruth (Ed) Brooks; and sister-in-law, Margie Plumer.
Elliott retired as a test operating engineer at CAT after 30 years of service. He also farmed with his dad and worked construction for Ed Williams and B & B Builders in Trivoli. Elliott dedicated his life to his community volunteering 55 years at the Logan/Trivoli Volunteer Fire Department, and serving as the Trivoli Township Supervisor for 45 years. He was a member of the Farmington Moose, The Trivoli United Methodist Church , and the Illinois Angus Association, Maple Lane Country Club, and the Peoria County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed raising and showing cattle with his children across the country. Elliott rarely missed a sporting event for his children or grandchildren. He was their biggest fan, besides grandma!
Graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Smithville Cemetery in rural Hanna City. Steve Plumer will officiate. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
