Canton - Wilma Shank, 92, of Canton, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on May 27, 1928, in Vermont, Illinois, to Lawrence and Ila “Edna” (Pennell) Chasteen. They preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Daniel “Dan” Shank, whom she married on, December 16, 1950, at Fort Louis, Washington.
Also surviving are three sons, Mark (Paula) Shank, Todd (Lori) Shank, and Brad (Laurie) Shank, one brother, Robert (Carolyn) Chasteen, five grandchildren, Ashley, Sam, Sayler, Maia, and Eli. Three great grandchildren, Gage, Ella, and Ian, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents two brothers, Laurel “Pinky” Chasteen, and Wayne Chasteen, and one sister Virginia (Chasteen) Gallien.
Wilma was an excellent cook, she enjoyed camping and traveling. She was also a master card player. Wilma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and was cherished by all who knew her.
Public visitation will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Monday, June 22, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Vermont Cemetery in Vermont, Illinois on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 12:00 Noon.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
