Mitchell Scott Lopeman, 62, of Canton, passed away at 5:45 AM on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Sunset Rehab & Health Care in Canton. He was born on January 19, 1958 in Canton, IL to Earl and Elsie (Hemry) Lopeman. He first married Lori Dodd of Laura, IL and later married Loretta Luedtke of Peoria, IL. They both survive.
Also surviving are four children, Josh (Lucy Hilt) Lopeman of Yates City, IL, Amber (William Cotelleso) Flynn of Peoria, IL, Ashley (Anthony) Adkins of Washington, IL, and Brandon Lopeman of Peoria, IL; three sisters, Judith Shockley of Rogers, AR, Nola (Mike) Vaughn of Canton, IL, Cinda Branon of Bridgeport, NE; seven grandchildren; and a special friend, Ada Staten of Canton.
Mitchell is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Faye White; and one brother-in-law, Donnie Branon.
Mitchell was a laborer with various jobs for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, mushroom hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. A Celebration of Life will also be held at a later date.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the service with Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the family.
