Joanne Widmer, Canton, passed away April 20, 2020 at OSF Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
Joanne was born April 10, 1934 in Clifton, Illinois, the youngest daughter of Freeman and Adaline (Weaver) Petree. She married Lloyd Widmer July 2, 1953 in Kankakee, Illinois.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Lloyd, two daughters, Lorena (David) Sale and Deanna (Clifton) Smedstad, one son, Joel (Lynne) Widmer, all of Canton. Also surviving is one daughter-in-law, Theresa Widmer of Decator, 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and one brother. One son, Steven Widmer and one great granddaughter also preceded her.
Joanne was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Her kindness touched many lives. She was a faithful member of the Canton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She dedicated her life to living by Bible principles and showing love for God and neighbor.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
