Smithfield- Robert A. Lee, 51, of Smithfield passed away at 3:50 AM Saturday June 22, 2019 at his home.
He was born November 30, 1967 at Peoria the son of Dolly (Ledbetter) Dykes. He married Chris Heitzman on June 9, 1990 at Mapleton. She survives along with his mother and step father, Gordon and Dolly Dykes of Springfield, OH; one daughter, Kayla Lee at home, four sisters, Glenda (Ed) Gass of Bryant, AL; Lori (Bill) Batten, Nancy (Christopher) Roach and Jennifer (Tom) Laudermilt all of Springfield, OH.
Robert worked as a TEA Operator/Maintenance at the former Crompton plant in Mapleton now called Lanxess Solutions US Corporation. He had 16 years of service.
Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman he enjoyed the great outdoors. He enjoyed motorcycles and was a dirt bike racer in his younger years.
Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Pastor’s Dean Potts and Ellen Dodd Officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may made to an education fund for his daughter Kayla Lee or the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition.
