Robertine M. McGee, 90, of Canton, passed away 10:24 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba. She was born on December 11, 1928 in Cass County, a daughter of John H. and Sylvia (Williams) Gilpin. She married John W. McGee on December 27, 1947, he preceded her in death on July 24, 1990.
Robertine was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Delbert W. McGee, and five brothers, Donald, Sherwood, Sherwin, Wayne, and David Gilpin.
Surviving is one daughter, Marilyn Royal of Canton, IL, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, John A. “Junior” (Dorothy) Gilpin of Edmond, OK, and one daughter-in-law, Cheryl McGee of Canton.
Robertine graduated from Canton High School. She worked as a housekeeping supervisor at Graham Hospital and retired after 30 years. Robertine was a member of the Norris United Methodist Church. She was very loving and devoted to her family.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL, where a visitation will be held from 10-11 AM. Rev. Monroe Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to the Fellowship Help Ministries in care of the First Baptist Church.
