Betty J. Winston, 87, of Rushville, IL, passed away at 4:47 pm on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at her home. She was born on May 7, 1931 in Browning, IL, the daughter of Frank and Isla (Lane) Weishaar. Betty married Jack Winston on April 21, 1951 in Beardstown, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her 2 daughters, Nancy Winston of Rushville and Christy (and John) Chubick of Bloomington, IL, 3 grandchildren, Shelly Toland, Jennifer (and Dave) Ziemer, and Kayla (and Josh) Smith, 4 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Olivia, Coralynn, and Calvin, 2 brothers, Jim Weishaar of Rushville and Alfred (and Fanny) Weishaar of Beardstown, and 1 sister, Peggy Stambaugh of Browning.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Wanda Mae Weishaar.
Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardening, going to the movies, reading, and listening to music, especially Lawrence Welk.
Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Charla Meyers will be officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services on Monday. Interment will be in the Browning Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Illinois Chapter.
