Cuba- Raymond L. Burgess, 78, of Cuba passed away at 12:40 PM Friday November 10, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born May 23, 1939 at Lewistown the son of Cecil L. and Zelma L. (Vaughn) Burgess. He married Judith Hitchcock in 1964. She died in 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. Surviving are Bonnie Hiatt with whom he made his home, six children, Scott Burgess, Raymond Burgess, Ed Burgess, Kim Virag, Gail Gilpin, and Edna Burgess, two sisters, Alice (Elton) Colston of Ipava, and Mary Bailey of Havana, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Matt McClaughry, Minnie Keime, George Virag, and Jeremy Keime.
Raymond worked at the former Norris Farm for many years. He was also a construction laborer and had worked for the Cuba Police Department. Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to auctions.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Glen Edenburn officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
