Brenda Kinsel

Canton – Brenda Sue (Barnett) Kinsel born on October 2, 1962 to Clay and Betty (Walker) Barnett in Peoria, IL, left her earthly body after a courageous fight on November 15, 2017 surrounded by love.

Brenda leaves behind many who will miss her daily, including her son, Brian (Jessica) Kinsel of Canton, as well as her precious grandsons, Mason and Atlas; her siblings, Diana Hall of Peoria, Clay (Sally) Barnett of Mapleton, and Jim Barnett of Peoria. She also leaves behind her love and contagious laughter to her nieces and nephews; Mick Hall, Kim Malone, Michelle Stevens, Brent Barnett, and Scott Barnett. She has several cousins who were her first friends in life and forever after. Brenda was also step mom to Elizabeth James, Eric Kinsel, and Aaron Linwood.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents.

She worked at Graham Medical Systems for many years and loved her friends there, many who became family to her. Brenda was an amazing person who loved drawing, crafting, making and wearing Halloween costumes and showing love through her projects to so many others. If you truly do win by dying while having the most material and craft supplies, she wins and no one else will need to try. Brenda donated her time and resources to many causes including the Linus Project, which she coordinated for many years in our area. She was an amazing cook and we will never have coleslaw quite the same without her making it. She was a member of the Elks and volunteers for many of the projects there.

A visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Following the visitation, a celebration of life will be held at the Elks in Canton, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date. She asked instead of flowers to celebrate her memory by donating to the charity that she poured herself into: Relay of Life.
