Canton – Kenneth “Kenney” L. Rilea, 81, of Canton, formerly of Liverpool, passed away at 2:54 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Graham Hospital Emergency Room. He was born on October 9, 1936 in Canton, IL to Charles and Marie (Murphy) Rilea. He married Vickie Kalson on October 9, 2010 in Canton, IL. She preceded him in death on July 18, 2013.
Also preceding him in death were his parents and five brothers, Richard, Jack, Jerry, Donnie, and Carroll “Butch” Rilea.
Surviving are seven children, Jody Rilea of Liverpool, Kevin Allard of Canton, Tad Allard of Canton, Susan Brown of Canton, Vickie Rilea of Canton, Landis Hardesty of Canton, and Mendy Brown of Lewistown; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Charles “Junior” Rilea of Canton; and three sisters, Rose “Sissy” Bohanan of Canton, Linda Murphy of Wee-ma-tuk, and Genevieve “Jenny” Slater of Lewistown.
Kenney retired from International Harvester in 1985. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, pool player, and strongly supported his beloved Chicago Cubs.
Graveside services and burial will be held at a later date at Liverpool Cemetery in Liverpool, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL.
