Knoxville – Sylvia E. Wilson, 72 of Knoxville, formerly of Canton passed away 4:08 pm, June 27, 2016 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born on March 7, 1944 in Canton to Don and Bernita (Reeve) VanEtten. Surviving are two children; Kevin Wilson of Macomb and Debra (John) Winstead of Knoxville, brother William (Georgia) VanEtten of Arlington, TX, sister Martha (Roger) Powers of Grand Bay, AL, three grandchildren; Hallie Winstead, Shelbie Winstead, and Brodie Winstead. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and sister Sally VanEtten.
Sylvia worked as a CNA for Lutheran Social Services for 27 years. She also was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Canton.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be 10 am Friday, July 8, 2016 at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. The Rev. Lee Taylor will officiate.
