She was born September 5, 1928 in Canton to George E. and Stella (Upson) Derry.
She married Michael J. Nayden.
Surviving are six children, William M. Nayden of Lewistown, J. Eric (Marla) Nayden of Canton, James C. (Susan) Nayden of Craig, CO, Jennifer Nayden of Kansas City, MO, Robert L. Nayden of Canton, and Todd (Pam) Nayden of Punta Gorda, FL; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and sister, Pauline Shaw of Canton.
Preceding her in death were her parents, 1 brother, Paul Derry, and 1 sister, Dorothy Shores.
JoAnn first worked in the office at IHC in Canton and later was a secretary and accountant in Steamboat Springs, CO for several years.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Canton.
She also sang with the Sweet Adelines for many many years.
JoAnn was a devout mother and grandmother.
There will be a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 5th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Canton where visitation will be one hour prior. Father Daniel Ebker will officiate.
Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Canton.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation or Disabled American Veterans.
Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, Canton is in charge of arrangements.
