Canton-Walter W. Gudzinskas, 78,
of Canton, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at 8:35 a.m., at the
Heartland Health Care in Canton.
He was born on January 29, 1936
in Peoria to Peter and Ruby Gudzinskas.
They preceded him in death.
He married Jacqueline R. McCabe
on October 19, 1958 in Farmington. She
preceded him in death on December 21, 2006.
Surviving are three children Andy
(Tammie) Gudzinskas of Farmington, Lori Ann McCabe of Springfield, Alan (Kim)
Gudzinskas of Pekin, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His fiancée and partner in the family farming
operation, Mary Sloan of Canton, also survives.
One brother, Pete Gudzinskas,
preceded him in death.
Throughout his lifetime, Walt was
dedicated to farming. He was also the
manager of the Standard Service Station in Farmington and then served in the
U.S. Army at the end of the Korean Conflict.
He additionally worked for R.G. LeTourneau, Pabst Brewing Company and
was the owner and operator of Walt Gudzinskas Trucking.
Family members will attend a
private burial service at the Penn Ridge Cemetery in rural Trivoli.
