Vernece Homan

Vernece Homan, 97, of Farmington, formerly of Trivoli, passed away at 1:54 PM on January 3, 2026 at Carle Health Proctor Hospital in Peoria. She was born on November 2, 1928 in Cazenovia, Illinois, a daughter of Albert and Hazel (Crank) Redenius. She married Lyle Homan on April 24, 1948 in Peoria. He preceded her in death.

Also, preceding Vernece in death were her parents, grandson, Benjamin Homan, two brothers, four sisters, and son-in-law, Gary Thomas.

Surviving are her loving children, Alberta Thomas of Bartonville; William E. (Joyce) Homan of Trivoli; Marvin (Michelle) Homan of East Peoria; Donna (Chris) Newport of Glasford; Dennis (Sonia) Homan of Trivoli; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Vernece was a devoted homemaker and dedicated member of the Trivoli United Methodist Church for 64 years, with passions that included quilting, crocheting, baking, tending to her flowers & garden, and singing in the church choir.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, where visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the services. Pastor Bob DeBolt will officiate. Burial will follow the services, and take place at Penn Ridge Cemetery in Trivoli.
