Sydney Lynn Williams

Sydney L. Williams, age 27 of Astoria, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 in the Emergency Room at Graham Hospital in Canton, Illinois. She was born on September 12, 1998 in Canton, the daughter of Curtis Lee and Kacie Lynn (Shaw) Williams.


Sydney worked at Klide’s Fast Stop in Astoria for several years. She then went on to work at KIFCO in Havana, Illinois for 5 years and was currently the owner and operator of Sydney’s Day Care Center in Astoria.

She is survived by her fiance’ Kohlton Clark and daughter Lynley Kay Clark, both of Astoria, mother Kacie Shaw, father Curtis Williams, sister Kassidy (Moses Salinas) Williams and brother Rylee (Sami LaMaster) Williams, all of Astoria, nephews Mateo Salinas and Dallas Williams, grandparents Doug and Cheryl Shaw of Astoria and Susan Williams of Marietta, Illinois, and great-grandmothers Carol Shaw of Summum, Illinois and Shirley Mahr of Canton, Illinois.

Sydney was preceded in death by her grandfather Francis Williams and great-grandfathers Herbert Shaw and Lyle Mahr.

She loved to go camping and enjoyed volleyball and softball. Sydney was a past volleyball coach for the Astoria Junior High School.

She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Sydney’s Life will be held on Friday, January 9th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, Illinois. Chuck Wolter will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lynley Kay Clark. Inurnment will take place in the Summum Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
