Rhonda moved to Star Care in 2017. From that moment she became so much more than a resident. Rhonda’s presence in the room brought music, laughter, and singing. Rhonda loved to be in the middle of all the energy. In a world that was not always perfect for Rhonda, she showed a steadfast will. If she didn’t want to do something there were very few that could change her mind. When Rhonda loved you, she let you know. She gave the best sugars and always told staff she loved them. Rhonda would ask for her friends to be brought around her so that she could play her tambourine and sing for them. Rhonda’s love for music was fun, classic and always energized, making all around her get into a fun mood. You could hear staff saying, “shake it Rhonda”. Her love for Tina Turner, Elvis, all the classics. One of her favorites was Proud Mary. Once you seen and heard Rhonda play her tambourine and sing, you could never hear the song without forever remembering Rhonda. We were blessed to have this perfectly unperfect soul in our lives. Rhonda would tell stories of her siblings. Giving a small glimpse of growing up and the love she felt for her family. She loved her momma’s fried chicken. Rhonda touched more lives with her being her than most will ever experience. We lost our grandma, jive turkey, “babysitter”, we lost a little bit of our hearts. But heaven gained a new member to the choir with tambourines.
Cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory. A celebration of life gathering/memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory.
