Nancy C. Anderson, 80, of St. David, passed away at 7:57 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on April 25, 1939 in Canton, a daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Lidwell) Sawyer. She married Scott Anderson Jr. on May 12, 1957 in St David. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Kevin Anderson of Canton; Aaron (Tracy) Anderson of St. David; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and two brothers, Jerry Sawyer of Canton; John “Tike” Sawyer of Urbana, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, and one sister, Dixie “Pat” Stell.
Nancy worked and retired from Walmart in Canton, after 12 years of service, as a Pharmacy Tech and greeter. She served as an Election Judge for Buckheart Township for several years, formerly an active member of the St. David Optimist Club, and was of the Methodist Faith. She loved to Cross-stitch, and having people come over and visit, but most of all was the love for her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be from 2:00 PM until the time of the services. Cremation rites will be accorded. Rev. Jerry Sawyer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Buckheart Fire & Rescue Squad.
