Lewistown- Barbara J. Vrell, 71, of Lewistown passed away at 2:40 AM Thursday January 2, 2020 at her home with her daughter, Shannon Voyles, Barnum, her Scottie dog and Bailey, her cat by her side.
She was born September 13, 1948 at Canton the daughter of Robert L. and Marjorie D. (Waller) Vrell. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are one daughter, Shannon L. Voyles of Lewistown and Shannon’s father, Elden Voyles of Albany, KY; three grandsons, Casey Long of Texas, Jacob Ellis of Kansas City, MO; and Benjamin Kauk of Kearney, NE; one brother, Thomas L. Vrell of Georgia, aunt Sandra Simpson of Lewistown, aunts and uncle to Shannon Voyles which include, Sharon Schuppert of Louisville, KY; Debbie (Bob) Johnson of New Albany, IN.
Barbara retired from the City of Ft. Myers, Florida where she worked as an Impact Fee Analyst. She was of Methodist faith. Barbara had taught sign language to deaf children for four years in Albany, GA; and also worked with special needs children in Omaha; NE. Barbs passion was being outside doing yard work and pulling those darn weeds out. Barb loved eating at Countryside Restaurant in Lewistown for their great food and fellowship. Barb wanted to thank everyone at County Market for their warm hospitality. She especially wanted to thank her daughter for taking care of her on this last precious journey of her life.
Cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Henry-Lange Memorial home in Lewistown is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at henrylange.com.
