St. David – Donna Ayers, 88, of St. David, passed away at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Sunset Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born on November 8, 1927 in St. David, IL to Edward and Frances (Mustered) Benns. She married Niles Ayers on November 6, 1948 in Lewistown, IL; he preceded her in death on October 10, 2011.
Also preceding her in death are her parents.
Surviving are two daughters, Kris (Bruce) Sappington of Canton, IL, and Kathy McCreery of Daytona Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Chad (Rochelle) Sappington, and Eryn (Chris) Zahn; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Sappington, Kaleb Zahn, and Alexys Zahn; and one brother, Fred Benns of Pickneyville, IL.
She was a Homemaker, and enjoying her family and friends and will be missed by many. She also loved to garden and plant flowers.
Graveside services and burial will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Pastor Kevin VanTine will officiate.
