Sharon Jansen

Canton- Sharon Jansen, 83 of Canton, passed away at 9:49 PM on Friday, June 13, 2025 at The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing of Canton. She was born on January 17, 1942 in Cahokia Township, Macoupin County, a daughter of George and Dorothy (Riggs) Wyatt. She married Fred Jansen on March 29, 1958 in Canton. He survives.

Also, surviving are her sons, Ronnie (Diana) Jansen of Pekin; Richard (Carrie) Jansen of Cutoff, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceding, Sharon in death were her parents, daughter, Jennie Hauk; one brother, and two sisters.

Sharon started working at Graham Hospital in Canton, for over 20 years of services, and later worked at Kmart in Canton. She enjoyed painting, fishing, and crocheting, and also was an avid reader.

Per Sharon’s wishes, there will be no services, and cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory. A private family burial of ashes will take place in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
