Jackie “Jack” L. Berry, 92, of Canton, passed away at 1:40 PM on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Renaissance Care Center. He was born on April 25, 1928 in Bryant, IL to Jack and Myrtle (Doty) Berry. They preceded him in death. He first married Louise Maurice and later married Barbara Gover.
Also preceding him in death by his wife, Barbara, three still born sons, two sisters, Betty Humphrey and Leona Bader, and a brother, Ivan Berry.
He is survived by his daughter, Andrena (Ross) Roth and two step sons, Daniel (Kate) Gover and Curtis Gover; eight grandchildren, Nicholas (Andrea) Roth, Jennifer (David) Wright, Craig Roth, Anne Gover, Mary Gover, Elizabeth Gover, and Thomas Gover; and four great-grandchildren.
Jack was a sergeant in the Korean War. He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 43 years. Jack was a member of the Canton American Legion Post 16 and Canton VFW Post 1984 and was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded with Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Memorials can be made to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight. To make online condolences you may go to www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com
