Daniel D. Ihnes, 67, of Canton, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
He was born on December 13, 1951 in Canton to Herman and Reva D. (Clauson) Ihnes.
He married Sandy (Pinegar) Ihnes on April 28, 1973. She survives along with one son, Nathan Ihnes of Bloomington, one sister in law Sharyn (Dr. John) Baker, two nephews, Douglas (Jenn) Baker and Ted (Melissa) Baker, and one niece, Kristine Baker.
Preceding him in death are his parents, and one brother Robert Ihnes.
Dan was a Veteran of the United States Army Reserves. After high school Dan first worked at Krogers in Canton, where he met Sandy. He then worked at International Harvester in Canton for ten years, after the closing of International Harvester he worked at Cramer Ag in Cramer, Illinois where he was raised. He later worked for Mitsubishi Motors in Bloomington retiring in 2004. Dan was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, he enjoyed gardening and yard work. In his younger years he raced flat track motorcycles and his beloved possession was a 1967 Triumph Bonneville. He also loved his cats and riding motorcycles.
Cremation rites have been accorded a burial of ashes will be held at a later date at Penn Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Fulton County Humane Society, or to Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
